I feel like I’ve been wearing the same lip colors for years! Someone once told me that if pull down your lip, that color is a good direction for color that will look good with your skin tone. When selecting lip colors, I tend to choose one pretty close to my skin tone — or I’ll go to the pinker or berry side.
If you know me, you know I have a Burt’s Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm in my back pocket. It’s a very lightly tinted chapstick. I always at least have that on my lips.
This one I just got is the new Merit Signature Lipstick (Matte) in Classic. It’s warmer than I normally wear, but I really like it. The matte application feels very “everyday.” I do usually go just outside of my lip line when applying to make my lips look fuller. I think this one is going to become one of my favorite lip colors.
I have a Maybelline Super Stay Ink Crayon Lipstick in Lead the Way that’s been my go-to for years now. It’s really long-lasting and doesn’t smudge. Sometimes I’ll wear it as lipstick, and sometimes I’ll just line my lips with it and add my chapstick in.
Last year, I went with my sister to the Eras tour and we loved belting out songs all decked out in our best glam outfits. For Christmas, I had to get her Taylor’s signature red lip (a little tricky to track down these days!), so I included my personal go-to red as a nod to The Eras Tour film launching on Disney+. (Hi, it’s me rewatching this numerous times!)
I’ve rounded up all of my lipstick recommendations below, so hopefully you’ll find something fun to try! Let me know your favorite lip colors so I can get some new ideas.
